After the tragic death of Valfar, the rest of the Windir members decided to end Windir, and put their music into other projects.
Hváll formed a new band, the new band is named Vreid. Although Vreid incorporates many elements of Windir's music, they have fused the desolate atmospherics of black metal with thrash metal to create an original sound
